Do You Believe There Is A Gay Gene?

dna.jpgThis is a story that was sent to me by one of my readers who thought it may be an interesting topic. Follow the link here  to read the scientific version of the gay gene theory.

Basically the the argument is that many people believe there may be a connection to our DNA makeup that influences our sexual preference. Can it be true? Over the last few years, there has been known theories of this type of study within science and genetics to try to answer these questions about sexuality. Many people believe that if we can detect the sexual preference at an early age, it could help people who prefer the same sex to  live a more open lifestyle.

Question:

Do you believe a person's sexual preference is in their DNA makeup or is it a conscious choice people make? Please make suggestions and/or comments.

I believe that is based on the society one is raised in, think about it, as an infant you a blank sheet of paper awaiting to embrace the knowledge of the world. What most influenced way than T.V., family, and society. Do think it is a gene that makes you subject to what you decide is reality and fiction, that could define what you embrace and decide who you are.

I believe that some people are born with the gay gene. I have worked with many people who are gay/lesbians who say that they have known all their lives that they were different but did not understand why they was attracted to the same sex. Some people I feel is their decision due to life circumstances such as abusive relationship, sexual abused/rape, and physical abuse. I think eveyone has a right to decide who they fall in love with no matter if they was born that way or made the choice to be that way.
